Meet Andy Lau and Charlene Choi (Ah Sa) in Times Squares

Andy Lau and Charlene Choi meeting Malaysian fans here to advertise their new movie "All about love" in Times Square here just now. I personally get to there around 5pm, then have a walk in Times Square and there is already few people waiting down the stage. We thought that it was still very early to get a good spot, so we went to the Borders bookshop and nest there for few minutes. Then around 6pm only we finding spots to stand. Starting we are standing at 1st Floor, but as we wait for only few minutes, we feel bored already. So we walk around at the ground floor and look around. Too bad, when we decided to back to our spot, its already taken by other people. Hence, we have no choice but to stand at ground floor.

Andy and Charlene suppose to be arrived on 7pm but they appear on 7:45pm. The place quite packed with people and we can see anykinds of people there. Hahahaa... surprisingly, our classmate was one of the Official Twins Fan Club. They have the previledge to access to the restricted area which is right infront of the stage. :S Anyway, Charlene is really cute... :P Hahaha...

After watching them, as we left, outside was heavy downpour. I still have appointment with monitor seller. Hmm.. still quite satisfy by the monitor condition, it looks quite new, although it was a second hand unit. Here is the monitor that I've bought from the seller. The Samsung 793DF.

Hmm... nothing much, just hope that no more problem about monitor will happen again. Tired with the monitors problem already. :) Anyway, the picture below is the night view of KL city from Menara Alpha here. After the downpour, the light is so nice... but my phone camera has limited capability only. :P

Samsung Electronics and Bang & Olufsen unveil a new mobile phone concept called Serene

A cooperation between Bang & Olufsen and Samsung Electronics' Mobile Business has resulted in a unique mobile phone concept that breaks with conventional assumptions.

The phone is pure, simple, and of the highest quality, and the name 'Serene' reflects this. The idea behind Serene was to create a mobile phone that is dedicated to one prime purpose: to enable comfortable and convenient communication.

Since early 2004, the two companies have cooperated closely to realise this idea and the result is a truly unique product. In every aspect of the design and technology there is a carefully thought through relationship between form and function that makes both the minimalistic design and the use of the phone elegantly simple and straightforward. The name of the phone, Serene, reflects the core concepts of elegant simplicity and refined minimalism.

The intention is to provide an alternative for those customers who demand the highest quality, for whom simplicity and quality are important factors, and for whom less can be more. It is a phone you want to keep. It is timeless in use, in design, and in technology, freed from unnecessary functions and instructions. By combining Bang & Olufsen's concept development and design skills with Samsung's leadership in mobile phone technology, engineering and quality, both companies saw an opportunity to realise a totally different mobile phone concept.

"Serene is the result of our vision to constantly push the boundaries of mobile phone development and bring to our customers unique and exciting products", says Kitae Lee, President of the Telecommunications Business in Samsung Electronics.

"We wanted Serene to become a precious item, an item that is a personal expression of quality and convenience. The coherence to other Bang & Olufsen products is experienced through the design and a very simple user operation," says Torben Ballegaard Sørensen, CEO of Bang & Olufsen.

Serene consists of two equal parts that are tied together by a beautifully crafted aluminium hinge. The display and microphone are placed in the lower shell in a landscape orientation and the circular keyboard and loudspeaker is placed in the upper shell with an elegant thumb operated wheel in the middle taking care of all primary operations.

Accordingly, the colours, fonts, screen format and size have been specially selected with logical operation in mind. The relatively large, wide format display makes reading and writing on the screen even more pleasant. At the same time, restricting the number of features on the handset makes it possible to limit the number of menus, which in turn makes the experience of using Serene both logical and intuitive.

Serene comes with a triangular charger/docking station made in polished anodized aluminium with a cut-out for the phone. If the phone is placed in the docking station or the phone is used in a table mode it can be used as a minilaptop as the display can turn 180 degrees for convenient use in this position as well.

As a special feature for Bang & Olufsen customers, a special DECT docking station is available which enables Serene to synchronise its phonebook with the domestic cordless system of telephones from Bang & Olufsen.

New venue for lecture...

Heck, we have been assigned to the new Lecture Hall DKABA... If you wonder why so special about the lecture hall, here look at this picture..
As you can see the DKAB (red circle) is separated by the moutain there, and if we want to get to that lecture hall, there is no other ways than get out from college and walk to the UTAR there. We can only pray that there is no tutorials right before or after the lecture because our tutorial normally would be placed in Block K (blue circle). Just take the swimming pool (is olympic sized pool) as the size reference, the fastest we could get there is 15minutes. Imaging that we need 15minutes just to change venue. Well just pray hard that the college won't make such ridiculous arrangement, else I wouldn't dare to think what will happen to us next. :S

For more details about the distance between block K and DKABA, click the picture below to enlarge it.

A Cool Concept Phone

Finally, the Finnish biggest phone manufacture came out something interesting that makes the Asian drools. This concept phone known as Nokia888, which is just 0.5cm thick and it can be bend anyway you want it to be. Thus, with this phone, you can wear it as wand on the wrist, or even as a braclet. In fact, you can bend in anyway you want it to be. Sounds cool? Yea.. I think this is the best phone that Nokia has ever designed.

The phone is using liquid batteries, a flex touch screen, and the advance voice recognition. Hmm.. it might be still a long run before our mobile phone technology reaches this stage. If this concept turns into true, our future phone would be this --> ~ ? ;)

New Memory Stick (M2) by Sony and SanDisk

The japan company Sony and Sandisk release their new type of memory stick and they named it as Memory Stick Micro (M2). This M2 physical size is smaller than the existing MS Duo Pro which used by the SonyEricsson mobile phone currently. They plan to implement this M2 into future SonyEricsson phone. The M2 would be fully support dual voltage which is 3.3volt and 1.8volt. Thus, it increase the compatibality to devices.

For the present SonyEricsson phone user that uses the MS Stick Duo Pro, the M2 can be supported by insert the M2 into the MS Duo Pro adapter to be used as MS Stick Duo Pro.

Here is a brief comparison between Memory Stick Micro(M2) and the standard Dual Voltage Reduced Size Multimedia Card (dv-rsMMC).

click on the image for clearer view.

The M2 has the amzingly large storage capacity according to the review on gsmArena. Thus in future we can have 32GB in our hands. Let us wait for the confirmation when M2 is official released.
