Crystal Report Workshop (DAY 2)

Today is the second class of the Crystal Report Workshop. These are the things that are covered in today workshop:
PART I

Create Report from the Wizard

Select tables from more than 1 tables

Edit the relationship between table which auto-detected by Crytal Report XI

The auto-generations formula for generating report from both tableUsing the preinstalled template for report

PART II

More "Experts" were introduced, among them are Format Editor, Section Expert, and Highlighting Expert

Creating simple formula for filtering the records (Filtering data actually can be done easily from report wizard or using the Select Expert)

Add and edit lines in report

Editing the style of the boxes

Making object read-only/editable

Crystal Report Workshop (DAY 1)

Here I am sharing those activities that held during the workshop by our database lecturer Mr Yap. For those who have no idea on what is a Crystal Report, actually it was a report development tools which generetes from database. It is quite powerful report generator as it is in Graphical User Interface, and the tools are quite complete.

Starts your report with Database Expert

Select the field that you want to display by just drag and drop

Click Print Preview to preview your report

This is how your plain report would look like

The workshop started at 9am today, we have been taught on how to create a normal blank report, linking database, select table, then comes to the report development environment. The field that we need can be just drag and drop into the report template. Besides generating the field content, we are taught on how to use the "Sort Expert", "Select Expert", some of few more "Expert(s)" that I can't get to list all out 1 by 1. The workshop ended at 10:30am.

As I don't have that particular software in my hand yet, so I can't post some of the screenshots of this Crystal Report thingy. Hmm... stay updated.... I will try to get some screenshots as soon as I got the software. :)

Back from JB

Hmm.. coming back from JB just to sit for the remaining exam. Is kind of bored actually, because purposely have to travel from JB back to KL just to settle these remaining paper. We have to facing the notes while others are enjoying their Chinese New Year... *sigh*

After get used to the old PIII 550MHz pc, I found that my pc at KL here is really fast and smooth. Hahaha.... is such a long time I didn't sensed the smoothness of my pc here. Well, it was not a fast pc actually, but at least faster than what I used at my hometown.... XD

Nothing special to report today except "I broke my hp headset again!"..
LOL... this is the second headset that I broke in my bag when I travel between my hometown and KL... Aih.... I wonder should I bought a new headset or just let it be... :P
